Britney Spears claimed she was ‘an angel’ before DUI arrest, docs reveal

Britney Spears claimed she was “an angel” before police officers arrested her for drunken driving in March, according to documents obtained by Fox News Digital.

Spears, 44, admitted to California Highway Patrol officers that she could “probably drink four bottles of wine and look at you, I’m an angel” before refusing an alcohol screening test.

After Spears was handcuffed, officers discovered a brown bag in her vehicle containing Adderall, a drug that was not prescribed to the singer.

Officers also discovered “an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver’s seat and the passenger seat.”

When asked if she was under the influence of any drugs before getting behind the wheel, Spears claimed to have taken 200 mg of Lamictal and 40 mg of Prozac, a prescription drug used primarily as an anticonvulsant.

Officers observed a “distinctive odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from” the interior of the vehicle before investigating DUI.

Spears initially refused to exit her vehicle and requested her attorney before agreeing to speak to officers outside her car.

According to the police report, the “Circus” singer claimed she had been “pranked and harassed in the past and did not want to date.”

After exiting the vehicle, officers described his speech as “rapid and slurred, his gait unsteady, and he fidgeted with his fingers.”

“I asked Spears if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages before driving, and he described drinking a mimosa when he woke up ‘around 2 p.m.,’” the report stated.

“I ask Spears on a scale of zero to ten, where zero is completely sober, ten is the drunkest he’s ever been, and where he would put his current level of drunkenness. Spears put his current level of drunkenness at ‘Zero’.”

Officers noted that Spears experienced “drastic mood swings” during the interaction and witnessed her mood changing from “confrontational and agitated” to flamboyant and accommodating.

“He appeared to speak with a British accent at times,” the report stated.

Following a drug recognition evaluation at the Simi Valley Police Department, officers determined that Spears was under the influence of a CNS Stimulant and requested to take the singer to a local hospital for a routine blood draw.

Spears allegedly tried to “delay the blood draw” and became “argumentative and combative” while in the restroom.

Authorities were able to handcuff Spears before transporting him to Los Robles Medical Center for a chemical blood test. He was later transported to the Ventura County Jail.

Earlier this month, Spears’ drunken driving charge was dropped after she pleaded guilty through her lawyers to what is commonly referred to as “wet reckless.”

He was fined, given 12 months probation, sentenced to jail time and will have to complete a DUI course. The county district attorney’s office said the plea offer is standard for defendants who have no DUI history, no road accidents or injuries and a low blood alcohol level.

“Ms. Spears took responsibility for this misdemeanor crime by filing a criminal complaint at the earliest stage and two months after the day of her arrest,” said District Attorney Erik Nasarenko.

In the DUI charges filed, authorities stated that Spears’ alleged misdemeanor was “unlawful driving while under the joint influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug.”

“Spears was arrested on Wednesday, March 4th and driving while drunk. He was released around 6:07 a.m. the next day, according to records reviewed by Fox News Digital.

At the time of her arrest, a representative for Spears confirmed to Fox News Digital that the “Toxic” singer was voluntarily checked into a treatment facility.
