McFarlane said that among these teams was the victim identification team from Brisbane.
The house is state-owned and the possible cause of the e-scooter battery is being investigated.
McFarlane confirmed the deceased’s exact relationships were yet to be determined but they did not live in the house full-time.
“It was a very sad and tragic scene both inside and outside the fire. A lot of families were gathered there,” he said.
“Here in Emerald there are close-knit extended families and they rally around each other.”
Earlier, Queensland Premier David Crisafulli said it was “incredibly sad that four people have lost their lives”.
“There’s no doubt that when you’re dealing with small towns, those connections will be felt and the loss will be felt very deeply,” the Prime Minister told reporters.
“I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family, as well as the neighbors and the emergency services involved.
Gregory MP Sean Dillion is on his way to Emerald, Crisafulli said.

In an online statement, Dillion said he was “ready to assist in any way necessary.”
“My heart goes out to the family and friends of those who tragically lost their lives in the Emerald house fire today,” he said.
Central Highlands Regional Council also expressed its condolences to the community.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that occurred at Emerald early this morning,” the statement said.
“On behalf of Central Highlands District Council and the wider community, our thoughts extend to the families and friends of those affected.”
