Trump aide accuses India of financing Russia’s war

President Donald Trump’s high -level assistant accused the US leader’s pressure to stop receiving Russian oil to the new Delhi and accused India of effective financing the Russian war in Ukraine by purchasing oil from Moscow.
Stephen Miller, one of the most influential assistants of Trump, the White House Deputy Chief of General Staff, said, “(Trump) is very clearly that India’s oil from Russia can not be accepted to finance this war by purchasing it from Russia.” He said.
Miller’s criticism was some of the most powerful of one of the US’s major partners in Indo-Pacific by the Trump administration.
“People will be shocked to find out that India is basically connected to China in purchasing Russian oil. This is a surprising fact.” He said.
The Indian Embassy in Washington did not respond immediately to the request for comments. Indian government resources told Reuters on Saturday, despite the US threats, the new Delhi will continue to buy oil from Moscow.
As a result of the acquisition of military equipment and energy from Russia, a 25 percent tariff on Indian products on Friday entered into force. Trump also threatened 100 percent of tariffs for imports from countries that bought Russian oil unless Moscow reached a great peace agreement with Ukraine.
Miller convened his criticism by stating his relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which Trump described as “enormous”.
