Bus Makes Unscheduled Stop At Police Station Over Missing Chain

: A routine journey on a government transport bus took an unusual turn when a female passenger noticed the gold chain missing from her purse and the bus was taken to a police station in Haveri town.

The incident took place on Thursday evening. The woman, identified as Meenakshamma, a resident of Hirebasur village in Hangal taluk, reportedly lost the chain while traveling in a bus (Haveri-Tilavalli-Haveri) belonging to the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

Meenakshamma said that she took back the gold chain which was earlier pledged to a bank. He had placed the chain inside a bag that was stored in another bag in his bag. He said he also bought sapota and grapes that were kept on top of the bag.

Realizing that her bag was lost during the journey, the woman wanted the bus to be taken to the police station to file a complaint.

He contacted the police to trace the missing chain.

Police sources told Deccan Chronicle that the authorities also checked CCTV footage of the places he visited before boarding the bus.
