Bus surfing idiots risk their lives by clinging onto back of the Number 114 to avoid paying £1.75 fare

Two men have been convicted of performing a ‘death-defying’ stunt after they were filmed clinging to the back of a moving bus to get a free ride.
The pair were filmed clinging to the red double-decker truck, which reached speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, but they separated themselves when Number 114 had to stop in traffic.
Realizing that they were being recorded by a passenger in the following vehicle, the duo tried to hide their identities.
While one of them protected his face with his hand, the other pulled his hood up.
The 12-second clip, filmed on Mollison Way in Burnt Oak, Edgware, ends shortly after the pair are seen.
The stunt, known as bus surfing, is often performed to avoid paying bus fares.
An adult pay-as-you-go ticket on Transport for London services costs just £1.75 per journey.
One local joked that the country’s pothole-ridden roads could be their downfall.
The pair were filmed holding on to the red double-decker as they reached speeds of up to 30 miles per hour.
He said: ‘People will go to great lengths to save one swipe on the Oyster card.
‘Two men are haphazardly hitchhiking behind the 114 bus.
‘Honestly, the grip strength required to hold on to the bus while it’s in motion is impressive.
‘But one pothole and it could have ended badly.’
Another said: ‘The same guys who wear expensive tracksuits and talk about making and spending a lot of money.’
A third said: ‘£1.75’.
The bus was traveling from Mill Hill to Ruislip on Monday.
Siwan Hayward, TfL’s Director of Safety, Policing and Enforcement, said: ‘We are aware of the incident and will be working closely with the Metropolitan Police to assist with their investigation.
‘If anyone has information about this dangerous and reckless behavior please contact the police.’
