France changes housing benefit rules for international students: Here’s what you need to know

As part of budget cuts, France is preparing to stop housing aid for non-EU/EEA/Swiss international students without scholarships from 1 July 2026. This move aims to save over 100 million euros a year by redirecting public funds.
