Renowned Economist Meghnad Desai Passes Away

New Delhi: Lord Meghnad Desai, the distinguished Indo-Origin Economist, Writer and British Lords Assembly, died on Tuesday at the age of 85, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the British High Commissioner India, Lindy Cameron, created condolences from around the world, including Lindy Cameron.
Born as Meghnad Jagdishchandra Desai in Vadodara in Vadodara, the economist started his academic journey at the University of Mumbai, where he won both his undergraduate and graduate degrees, and in 1963 he completed his PhD in 1963.
Following the news of his death, PM Modi expressed the sorrow and remembered his valuable contributions to economic thought and India-England relations.
“A distinguished thinker, writer and economist Shri Meghnad Desi Ji passed away. He has always been committed to India and Indian culture. He also played a role in the deepening of Indian-Uk vineyards. He will remember our discussions with love, shared his valuable views here.
The British High Commissioner for India expressed his condolences for Desi’s death.

“It is very sad to learn that Lord Meghnad Desai died in Delhi this evening.
The Supreme Commission of India in London paid Tribute to Desai and said that he defended the strong and lasting ties between India and England and that his contributions would continue to inspire diplomats, academicians and thought leaders in both countries.
“The High Commission of India in London was deeply upset about the passing of Lord Meghnad Desai. A teacher, scientist, thought leader and the great advocate of permanent friendship between India and England. Lord Desai’s work in both countries, the role of diplomats, scholars and thought leaders in the organization of a sculpture in London” in a shipment.
Desi was promoted to the Lords Assembly in 1991, where he served as the first Indian -origin peer from the Labor Party. Professor Emeritus organized his title at the London School of Economics (LSE) and was greatly respected for his academic contributions and public policy understanding.
