Caitlin Clark named Eastern Conference Player of the Month despite only playing 10 games

Caitlin Clark has spent a lot of time in the headlines this season for reasons that have nothing to do with her play on the field. But it’s worth remembering how dominant he was when he was healthy.
Just one day after being named an All-Star starter for the third straight season, Clark was named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June. He earned the honor for the second time in his career after winning Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month awards in August 2024. He joins Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings as the only players in Indiana Fever history to win the award three times.

Clark averaged 21.9 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds in 10 games throughout June, shooting 45.6% from the field and 35.1% from three. She ranked fourth in the WNBA in scoring and second in assists, powering the league’s highest-scoring offense at 95.5 points per game while leading Indiana to a 7-4 record.

He had one of his best performances on June 11 against Chicago, scoring 32 points and 10 assists. Clark and Aliyah Boston became the first teammates in WNBA history to record a 30-point double-double in the same game. He followed that up five days later with 21 points and a season-high 14 assists in a win over Toronto.

Clark also set a new WNBA record by recording at least 20 points and five assists in six consecutive games from June 11–22. This was the third time in his career that he managed to achieve these goals in a streak of at least five games; It’s something all players in league history have done combined only three times.
That streak ended when Clark suffered a back injury in the third quarter of Indiana’s June 24 game against Phoenix, where he had 19 points and eight assists. This was also the play where Alyssa Thomas made contact with Clark’s neck during a play, resulting in a flagrant foul.

Clark continues to rewrite the WNBA record books. He enters July with just nine assists to reach 600 points for his career and just five 3-pointers to become the fastest player in league history to make 200 career 3-pointers.
