The Indiana Fever are back on the hardwood and all eyes are once again on superstar guard Caitlin Clark as the team reports it will head to training camp ahead of the 2026 season.
Her goal this time is to make sure she’s healthy enough to pursue it after her second injury-plagued season in the WNBA.
Clark told reporters at training camp that she is “100% healthy” after dealing with quad, groin and ankle injuries in 2025, resulting in only 13 games played for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

But even though Clark wasn’t allowed on the field, she learned how to be more careful heading into her junior year with head coach Stephanie White.
“I’m the type of person who doesn’t want a single representative left out, as I want to be there every time,” Clark told reporters at the Indianapolis Star. “But I’m thinking about being a little smarter with my body…whether it’s recovery, pre-trial treatment, whatever it is.”
White echoed Clark’s statement.

“He doesn’t need to be there every rep, he just needs to be careful,” he said. “He finds that the rhythm is a little different each year as he gets older.”
Clark played only 13 games but made his second consecutive All-Star appearance, averaging 16.5 points, 5 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game during that span.

Heading into this season, Clark is clearly looking to continue her hot start to her professional career, and she cited working with Team USA ahead of the FIBA Women’s World Cup in March as an experience she says has helped her prepare for this season.
“You want to rise to the level of the people around you, and then you want to beat them, go out there and compete,” she said of her experience playing and training with the best of the best in women’s basketball.
That’s why Clark is heading into training camp without pushing himself as he has in the past, including his years at Iowa. Once he sits down and rests, the Fever can see what else they have at the guard position, including Raven Johnson, a first-round pick out of South Carolina.

The Fever hope to continue playing in the WNBA after losing in the semifinals last season with an injury-plagued roster. They also made a point of bringing back core players from last year’s squad, including Sophie Cunningham, Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull, who are all dealing with injuries in 2025.
Indiana was also looking to the future, signing Aliyah Boston to a four-year, $6.3 million contract extension that marked the highest-paying deal in WNBA history following the historic CBA agreement between the league and the players association.
