Caitlin Clark appeared emotionally distraught at the post-game press conference following the Indiana Fever’s 113-96 loss to the Atlanta Dream and arch-rival Angel Reese.
The superstar kept his head down and spoke in a sombre tone regarding his team’s second-half collapse, claiming everything his team did was a “foul”.
The Fever committed 29 personal fouls in the loss.
“What we did well in the first half was play in transition, spray, find open people. Um, that’s really hard to do when all we do is foul and they score,” Clark said.

Clark also recorded seven of his team’s 19 turnovers in the game.
“We have to take care of the ball better, and that starts with me,” Clark said.
In between turnovers, Clark also appeared to roll his eyes as coach Stephanie White spoke to him during the game, and clips of the moment went viral on social media.
White also answered his team’s foul problem in the game and did not rule out that the referees could call them more fouls.

“I think it’s a little bit of both,” White said when asked if the foul trouble was “fixable” or “whatever you call it.”
“Obviously, there’s been an emphasis on a lot of foul calls. There’s been an emphasis on freedom of movement. We’ve seen the number of foul calls increase all together. Um, you know, I think there’s some things we can do individually, um, definitely to keep ourselves that vulnerable and there’s some things we can do collectively to have each other’s backs so we’re not in those positions.”

Clark experienced many emotional moments throughout the match.
In the first quarter, Clark lifted the ball upfield and took a shot after being fouled near the top of the goal by the Dream’s Jordin Canada. Clark took exception and finally waved at Reese. The exchange occurred about a minute after Clark hit a three-pointer in Reese’s face.
This was Clark and the Fever’s second loss to Reese’s Dream in three days after the Dream won their Thursday matchup 108-101 in Indiana.
The Fever are currently 9-7 and continue to play below the team’s expectations entering the season.
Clark finished the game with 26 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists.
