California man claiming to be wizard caught on Ring breaking into home

A man in California was caught on Ring camera trying to break into someone’s home to find out his daughter’s whereabouts, only to be confronted by the homeowner, according to police.
Jason Nichols, 30, faces charges of burglary, vandalism and making criminal threats after police say he tried to break into a Fairfield residence and posed as a fictional wizard. Although Nichols appeared calm when he approached the house, things took a turn for the worse after he refused to leave.
At that time, the homeowner’s pregnant wife and 5-year-old child were hiding in the garage.
“I just want to make sure everything is okay. It looks like something is going on,” said Nichols. KTVU.

“What do you want to say?” the host responded as he asked the host to leave.
After speaking to the homeowner on the Ring camera, Nichols appeared agitated and shouted: “Where’s your daughter? Who’s with you in there? Open this bloody door or I’ll break it down.”

The owner said, “I’m giving you a chance; get out of my house.”
“My name is Harry Dresden, mother fucker!” said Nichols. “This is my neighborhood.”

After the suspect was taken into custody, Fairfield police said a witness came forward regarding a separate incident involving Nichols and her child but did not provide further details. Nichols was arrested in connection with this incident on charges of harassing or harassing a child under the age of 18.

At one point, Nichols removed the decoration hanging in the entryway and continued yelling and threatening to “kill” the homeowner if he didn’t open the door.
According to police, Nichols entered the home by breaking the door and entering through a sliding glass door. The homeowner returned when Nichols entered the house and confronted Nichols with a shovel. Fairfield police said the homeowner and Nichols suffered head injuries.

Police arrested Nichols and took him to a local hospital for treatment and he was later transported to the Solano County Jail.
