Hyderabad Traffic Police has located an Ashoka tree near Satyan Petrol Pump in Trimulgherry on December 31 to ease traffic congestion and ensure commuter safety while preserving the green cover of the city. The tree was blocking the bus section of the recently relocated bus stop, obstructing smooth vehicular movement in the area due to its location and overgrown branches.
After obtaining the necessary permissions from the relevant authorities, it was decided to relocate the tree instead of removing it. As per the instructions of Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar and under the supervision of senior traffic officials, the tree was carefully transported to the ITI College premises in Alwal with the help of relevant departments.
Traffic police officials said the relocation has significantly improved traffic flow around the bus stop and reduced congestion at the intersection. Steps will also be taken to ensure that the transplanted tree regrows healthily in its new location, underlining the ministry’s effort to balance environmental protection with public safety and efficient traffic management.
