Dawson’s Creek vet Busy Philipps reveals daughter, 17, graduated from high school in SWEDEN… 3 years after moving 5K miles away from her family

Dawson’s Creek vet Busy Philipps took to Instagram on Monday to congratulate her daughter Birdie on graduating high school.
However, the 17-year-old did not attend high school in Los Angeles, where Philipps lives.
Instead, Birdie has been attending a boarding school in Sweden for the past three years because she chose to live 5,000 miles away from her family.
The 46-year-old actress informed her followers that the decision to study in Scandinavia belonged entirely to Birdie.
Philipps also shares 12-year-old daughter Cricket with her ex-husband, 54-year-old Marc Silverstein, a film producer, screenwriter and director.

However, the 17-year-old did not attend high school in Los Angeles, where Philipps lives.
The White Chicks actress made it clear in her Instagram post that it was her child’s decision to move to Sweden to live at boarding school.
“He always had his own ideas, ideas that were completely unique to him, like going to high school at a boarding school in Sweden, a country where we had no real family ties,” the TV and movie star said.
“But she was adamant that it was the right thing for her (perhaps thanks in large part to a certain Netflix series?),” she shared.
Philipps also hinted that it was difficult for her child to be so far away from her.
‘The past three years have been challenging in ways we probably couldn’t have imagined, but he did it!’ he continued.
‘He made it through and stayed, even when I thought most kids – oh my god, EVERYONE would throw in the towel and go home. And today our gorgeous Bird graduated! Knowing Birdie means constantly admiring her, and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.’
Philipps also revealed that Birdie had a medical issue in Sweden.
‘Sigtuna and Stockholm, jag älskar dig ❤️ @sarah.sandberg_ I can never repay you for how you saved Birdie when she had a seizure but Disney trips are mine for life,’ she shared.
A seizure is an event that occurs when a sudden, abnormal increase in electrical activity in the brain disrupts normal communication between nerve cells. High fever, severe stress, infection or epilepsy can cause seizures.
Philipps attended the WP Theater Gala at the Edison Ballroom in New York City on May 11

He started his message by expressing how special his child was.
I don’t know exactly how to put into words how proud I am of ‘Birdie’. I mean, we’re all always proud of our kids, yeah. But having a kid like Birdie is definitely something extra (and I mean that in every way, but especially the best parts),’ the star wrote.
Philipps will be away from home for the next few months, he told People.
“I’ve been working all summer in Cupertino on the new television show I’m producing for CBS, so the girls have to be with their dads and they’re excited about that, so they’ll be traveling, but I’ll just be here working,” Philipps said.
