Kuwait-Delhi Indigo Flight Diverted to Ahmedabad Following Bomb Threat

Ahmedabad: An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad airport on Friday morning following a bomb threat, airport officials said. They said that nothing suspicious has been found yet.

The plane landed safely at Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 6.40 am with 180 passengers on board, the airport official said.

Airport officials announced that the plane was diverted to Ahmedabad as a precaution after a passenger found a handwritten note claiming that there was a bomb inside the plane. Informed about the threat, the pilot alerted air traffic control and the aircraft was diverted to Ahmedabad. After landing, all passengers were evacuated safely. Security personnel and airport staff then conducted a thorough search of the aircraft.

“No suspicious object has been found so far. The flight can take off after final confirmation,” an airport official said.

IndiGo said in a statement that its flight 6E 1232 from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after a security threat was detected on board. It was stated that the authorities were immediately informed and all mandatory protocols were followed. The airline added that the plane was cleared after all necessary checks and the flight will take off shortly.
