Car crashes through gate at Alexandra Hills Montessori childcare centre south of Brisbane
A car crashed through the fence of a childcare center in Alexandra Hills and stopped near the sandpit on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 3pm on Wednesday, police were called to The Hills Montessori childcare center on Verwood Court after a Geely EX5 SUV crashed into a steel fence surrounding an outside playground.
A mother entered the parking lot at the side of the property and lost control of her vehicle, while Granny reported that the vehicle’s wheel stopped at the edge of the sandpit.
A Queensland police spokesman said a child suffered minor injuries, including a minor scratch, after falling from play equipment.
Medical teams called to the scene stated that the woman had minor head injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
Speaking to Nine, The Hills Montessori general manager Rebecca Grugan praised her team for their quick response.
“As soon as I was told about it and learned about it, I was so grateful,” Grugan said.
“It could have been a lot worse.”
