Carlton Blues to be fined for $75,000 by the AFL
Carlton will be subject to a financial sanction of $75,000 by the AFL as a result of a review of the circumstances surrounding Elijah Hollands’ eligibility to play against Collingwood in round six.
The fine, confirmed by two competition sources who asked to remain anonymous, will be paid to mental health provider Headspace, which provides mental health and wellbeing services to young people and their families.
As the WorkSafe investigation continues, a formal announcement is expected to be made this afternoon, which is expected to shed light on the details of the investigation’s findings.
The AFL is also keen to use the findings to help them deal with such issues in the future.
