Carney says new oil pipeline proposal in Canada is highly likely
In an interview published on Sunday, Prime Minister Mark Carney told the Calgary Herald newspaper, likely to be included in a list of projects that are thought to have national importance for the Canadian government.
“The scale of the economic opportunity, the resources we have, and the expertise we have, is likely to have an oil pipeline that is an offer for one of these projects of national interests.” He said.
Prime Minister, “We want this, we want it,” he said, the government “from top to bottom” instead of making a proposal will be connected to the private sector, he said.
Carney, who joined the annual Calgary Stampede, said that Albey supports the $ 16.5 billion ($ 12.14 billion) carbon capture system proposed to deserve a place in the project list for oil sands.
Carney’s comments arrived weeks after the Canadian Senate crossed a bill for a quick approval for natural resource and infrastructure projects. The bill is potentially accelerating the approval of projects of national interests, including mines and oil pipelines, and eliminates some trade barriers between provinces.
Canada is the fourth largest oil exporter in the world. The oil and gas initiatives put on the list come to Canada because it tries to cut itself from the United States of the United States, where 75% of its exports.
