Caroline Dubois drops and stops Terri Harper to become unified lightweight champion

Caroline Dubois knocked out a bloody Terri Harper before outshining her British opponent at the London Olympia to become the unified lightweight world champion.
After a dull first half of the contest, Dubois dropped Harper with a stylish jab and left hook in the sixth round.
Doncaster’s Harper, who suffered a nasty blow following a clash of heads in the eighth round, showed great spirit in continuing to shoot until the final round.
The judges scored the fight 98-91, 97-92 and 98-91 for Dubois, who added Harper’s WBO belt to his WBC title.
“I’m a fighter. I’m an entertainer. That’s why this fight was the most talked about thing,” Dubois, 25, said.
The event became the first UK show staged by Most Valuable Promotions as Londoner Dubois extended his unbeaten record to 13 wins and one draw.
Harper, a three-weight world champion, has 16 wins, three losses and two draws.
