Carson Daly connects with his 13-year-old daughter by embracing the digital world the way many modern parents do.

“I have a 13-year-old kid named Etta who is doing very well and whom I never talk to,” he said, joking. “Are you talking 13 years old? Because I don’t.”

“Have you ever heard the phrase: ‘You should meet kids where they are?’ You hear this a lot in business, right? “They want to advertise, they want to get in the way,” he continued. “I took a leaf out of that and joined Snapchat six months ago. I especially communicate with my daughter more through Snapchat than in real life.”
For example, Daly said: “‘Are you okay?’ I can say. Then I’ll put in some stupid emojis. “He’ll reply ‘LOL’ and all these little things are flying all over the screen.”
“As stupid as it is, I’m a little attached,” he admitted.

Throughout the years, the former “TRL” host has been open about all aspects of her life, especially parenting.
Daly stopped to talk to Fox News at the Emmy Awards in September 2019 and admitted that becoming a father was by far his greatest accomplishment, adding that it helped him discover his purpose.

“I lost my father when I was 5,” Daly said of his biological father, who died in 1979.

“My mother was incredible. My parents both passed away two years ago,” she added of her mother, Patti, and stepfather, Richard, who both died within a month of each other in 2017.
“So I understand the importance of parenting,” Daly said. “And it’s so fun to dress nice and play games here. But ultimately, being a father is my biggest role in life. I mean, I have three children; my beautiful wife is currently pregnant with our fourth child. So, you know, God is great.”
