Andhra Pradesh Collective Transportation Department (Apptd) Employees Union leaders met with the Minister of Transportation M. Ramprasad Reddy at the camp office in Vijayawada on Friday and urged the implementation of promotions of employees waiting for the last six years.

In a representation submitted to the Minister, the President of the Union P. Damodar RAO and Secretary General GV Narayya, all low -level openings were obtained for the promotions of employees, and even on 28 August 2025, Prime Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu gave a green signal, the GO has not yet been published.

They said that the extraordinary delay did not only trigger unrest among 6,000 employees currently waiting for promotions, but also became a cause of concern for 45,000 RTC employees.

Considering the inadequate buses in the APSRTC fleet, the government should buy at least 3,000 new buses and buy 10,000 personnel.

He said that the employees had to work in a double job due to the shortage of staff. It was important to increase the staff during the summer, otherwise the additional load on the existing personnel may cause a large number of patients.

The government allowed the payment of the ‘Stree Shakthı’ plan to APSRTC every month without delay, and they provided the payment of La 360 Crore from 15 August to the end of September.

Among the union leaders of the employees who met the minister were Mda Siddiq, M. Shankar Rao, Sk Mohiuddin, Gs Narayana and YS Srinivasa Rao.
