CBI Court Receives Second Hoax Bomb Threat

Hyderabad: A CBI court here received a bomb threat via email on Friday, which was later found to be a hoax, police said. They received a similar fake email bomb threat on February 18, and Friday’s message was identical, including the sender’s details, according to court officials.
The police stated that a comprehensive investigation was carried out at the court building and declared the threat a fraud, and that the investigation was continuing to find the source of the e-mails.
In the email received on February 18, it was claimed that RDX IEDs were placed in the judge’s office and the court building and would explode when people carrying remote control devices approached the office.
In similar incidents last week, anonymous emails threatening to blow up the Karimnagar district court in Telangana and Rajamahendravaram and Anantapur courts in Andhra Pradesh triggered panic and led to increased security measures. This barrage of threats is part of a broader pattern; Similar emails have recently been reported in courts in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka.
