Odisha police officials had earlier stated that the investigation into the Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam will be formally handed over to a central agency.
CBI will also investigate another case of recruitment exam fraud related to the Uttarakhand UKSSSC exam.
Earlier, a single-member inquiry committee constituted by the Uttarakhand government to investigate allegations of irregularities in the competitive examination conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) on September 21, 2025, submitted its interim report to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The commission is chaired by Justice (retired) UC Dhyani.
According to the CMO, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the commission commendably submitted the report within a short period of time after holding extensive public hearings and collecting suggestions from candidates and interested parties.
He said the state government will examine the report and take decisions in the interest of the candidates. He also informed that a proposal for a CBI probe has already been made to ensure full justice in the matter.
The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) 2025 postgraduate level competitive examination has come under intense scrutiny following allegations of malpractice, prompting the state government to launch a judicially supervised probe.
