Cedric Alexander retains TNA X Division title in Slammiversary Ultimate X match

Cedric Alexander’s first Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship defense came Sunday night at Slammiversary, and he took on the daunting task of defending his title in an Ultimate X match.
This includes Alexander’s performances with Amazing Red, Frankie Kazarian, Fabian Aichner, Leon Slater, KC Navarro and Mr. Her appearance against Elegance was her 55th Ultimate X match in TNA history. This was also Red’s first appearance in a TNA ring in nearly 15 years. To win, the contestant had to climb one of the pillars, climb over the cables above the ring and grab the belt.

Alexander, Kazarian, Red and Aichner tried to take the belt at the same time. Alexander slipped and knocked out Aichner. Red and Kazarian fell to the mat. It allowed Red and Kazarian to show off what was left in the tank. Elegance tried to take advantage of everyone being outside the ring, but Navarro blocked her chance.
Red got in the ring with Navarro and gave a Code Red. He then did the same to Kazarian. He tried to move up for the title, but Slater caught him.

Slater regained some momentum when he realized his path to taking the title was blocked. Aichner pulled off a double blockbuster to take out Elegance, Kazarian and Navarro. He then tried to reach the championship with Red in the middle of the cable line. Slater unbuckled his belt as he and Red hung from the wires.
However, Alexander came to the ring and stole the belt from Slater’s hands.
He was the winner because neither Slater nor Red touched the mat.

Alexander initially capped off his streak of history by winning the X Division Championship from Slater. He will keep the belt for now.
