Census 2027: Thiruvananthapuram district to have 5,527 enumerators for Houselisting and Housing Census

Comprehensive arrangements are being made in Thiruvananthapuram district for the smooth conduct of the first phase of Census 2027, which will begin with the self-count phase on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Participants can visit https://se.census.gov.in Thiruvananthapuram district administration said on Sunday that self-count should be conducted from 6 am on Tuesday.

In Phase I, House Listing and Housing Census, information on the condition of houses, social amenities and assets of households will be collected. Phase II of the 2027 Census study. The first phase of the Population Census will be held in February 2027.

For Phase I, Thiruvananthapuram district has been divided into 5,608 house listing blocks (HLB). A total of 7,105 officers are assigned to census duties in the district. Under Phase I, the self-enumeration phase will run from June 16 to June 30.

Field visits of enumerators will be held between 1-30 July. 5,527 enumerators will be assigned to house-to-house visits to compile data. In Thiruvananthapuram, Census officials are keeping 553 enumerators and 93 auditors on the reserve list to handle contingencies.

Training for enumerators and supervisors in the district will be completed by June 23. 4 master instructors were appointed to the district. The training of field trainers who will coach enumerators and auditors has been completed.
