Central Corporation identifies ₹7.2 crore property tax discrepancies on Indiranagar 100-ft road

Demand notices were issued for 49 commercial properties on Indiranagar 100 Feet Road after property tax reassessment and revision inquiry revealed discrepancies amounting to ₹ 7.2 crore.
More than 120 staff, including nine Revenue Officers from all revenue divisions of Central Corporation, participated in the survey conducted on November 14. Commissioner Rajendra Cholan inspected many buildings and examined property tax details during the assessment.
Of the 197 properties surveyed, 147 were found to have correct tax payments, while 49 buildings had discrepancies. The total differential tax for these 49 properties was calculated at ₹7.21 crore. According to the regulations, property owners who receive a justification notice must provide a written explanation within 15 days. Failure to respond or object will result in the issuance of a claim notice and subsequent forfeiture of dues.
Mr. Cholan said similar re-evaluation surveys will be conducted in phases across Bengaluru and stringent action will be planned against those who provide false information in self-declaration forms.
