Cambridge Men and Oxford Women take Boat Race honours

Oxford claimed their first victory in the women’s race since 2016, while Cambridge won the Men’s Regatta for the fourth consecutive year.

The Cambridge men came into the 171st race as strong favorites but Oxford managed to stay with them for most of the race in difficult and stormy conditions along the 4.3-mile course from Putney to Chiswick.

However, the Light Blues class managed to stay in the bottom three, achieving their seventh victory in eight years by 11.02 seconds.

In the 80th edition of the women’s race, Oxford got off to a brilliant start and Cambridge were unable to respond as the Dark Blues held on for victory by a margin of 9.4 seconds and celebrated their 31st overall success.
