Cyclone Montha Impact | Telangana CM directs officials to stay put on field and supervise relief operations

Highlighting the need for teamwork to mitigate the impact of cyclone Montha, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday, October 30, 2025, made it mandatory for officials of different departments to remain on the ground for effective relief and rehabilitation work.
Provision of food grains, especially paddy, should be given priority and Civil Supplies Department officials should advise district Collectors on steps to be taken in this direction. He said special officers selected from the mandal-level administration should be appointed for each purchasing center and the responsibility of purchasing should be given to them.
The Chief Minister said steps should be taken to transport foodgrains to nearby function halls and district Collectors should receive daily report on procurement from each centre. “Prosecution should be initiated against officials who do not submit situation reports,” he said.
The Chief Minister held a video conference with senior officials and collectors of the affected districts on Thursday, October 30, 2025, to review the situation arising from heavy rains hitting different parts of the State under the influence of the cyclonic storm. He instructed district collectors and police chiefs to jointly set up monitoring centers to monitor relief efforts.
Relevant authorities should constantly monitor damaged roads and take steps to redirect traffic where necessary. They must monitor the situation in tanks, streams and large and small irrigation projects and warn local people in advance in case of emergency.
