2 more bodies retrieved from Bhadra canal in Shivamogga district of Karnataka

The teams started searching for four people from a family who were reported missing in the Bhadra canal in Kudligere in Shivamogga district of Karnataka, and found traces of two more bodies on January 22. Thus, the dead bodies of all four people were found. Four people had gone to the canal to do laundry on January 18.
On January 22, teams from the State Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services and expert swimmers found the bodies of Shwetha, 28, and her husband Parashuram, 33.
Experts recovered the body of Shwetha’s 50-year-old mother Neelabai on January 21, while the body of her 22-year-old brother Ravi Kumar was found on January 19.
On January 18, four people left their homes in Arebilachi village with two bicycles to do laundry in the canal. Locals suspected that all four had drowned in the canal. They notified the Holehonnur police. The search operation, which started on the evening of January 18, ended on January 22.
