King arrives in Bermuda after successful US state visit

Britain’s King Charles has arrived in Bermuda for a three-day royal tour following his memorable state visit to America.
Charles and Camilla were seen off from Washington by US President Donald Trump, and a few hours later the King landed in Bermuda for a solo tour.
AEST on Friday, after Trump announced he would scrap tariffs on Scotch whisky, prompting Buckingham Palace to say the King would toast the president.
The King and Queen thanked the USA for the welcome they received in the message they sent via X.
The couple said: “We leave a piece of our hearts behind and we take a piece of yours with us.
“Until next time… God bless America.”
Arriving at LF Wade International Airport at dusk, Charles was greeted by Bermuda Governor Andrew Murdoch and Bermuda Prime Minister David Burt and his wife Kristin, with a small guard of honor from the Royal Bermuda Regiment standing nearby.
The formalities were low-key as the King was to be welcomed later on Friday in a lavish and ostentatious ceremony that included a 21-gun salute.
As he reached the end of the red carpet, the King gestured to the traveling UK media and said “you did it” before getting into his waiting car.
