Charlie Kirk shooting suspect taken into custody
Washington: US President Donald Trump said that the suspect’s assassination of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah University was detained.
“I think we have it,” he said to Fox News on Friday morning in a live interview, he said that a person who knew that the suspect had surrendered him. “
Trump did not share the suspect’s identity. Authorities reportedly planned a press conference in the next hour.
Kirk’s killer escaped from police and federal agents for more than 24 hours after Wednesday’s shooting, and a single sniper fired a single firearms that killed Kirk during a view at Utah Valley University in Orem.
On Thursday night, the FBI was still publishing new images and video of the suspect and appealing to the public for help.
“We worked with the local police, the governor. Everyone did a great job, Tr Trump said. “We started with a clip that made him look like an ant, almost useless. Surprisingly and lucky when you started with it – or talent or whatever.”

Trump said he hoped the assassin to be sentenced to death.
