Cheetham Hill fire LIVE: ‘Close windows and doors’ warning as smoke engulfs area | UK | News

Firefighters rushed to Manchester’s Cheetham Hill area to extinguish a large building fire. Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service were deployed to Broughton Street in the early hours of Saturday. The fire has been going on since at least 1 a.m.

Smoke from the fire can be seen from kilometers away and many roads are closed to traffic. At around 5.30pm the fire department appealed to residents in the area to keep their windows and doors closed due to thick, low smoke moving north of Cheetham Hill.
