Nvidia Will Delay RTX 50 ‘Super’ Cards Amid Storage Issues

Nvidia postponed its planned RTX 50 series “Super” graphics cards due to global memory shortages, narrowing the already limited GPU market. The RTX 50 series Super graphics cards were expected to launch at CES 2026 in January, but the launch was skipped after executives decided to do so in December, according to The Information. Nvidia’s delay suggests that resource allocation is reflected in AI accelerators rather than gaming GPUs as RAM remains limited. The company is also cutting production of existing RTX 50 series cards, and retailers have reported brisk sales that could prolong the shortage and push prices higher. Total revenue in Q3 2026 was $57 billion, $51.2 billion of which was from data centers. Mass production targets for the original RTX 60 series by the end of 2027 may change.
