Another grumbled: ‘cher doesn’t even hide that lip sync’, while another wrote of her shiny silver mic: ‘cher’s mic is on everything except ………. severe.’
One fan gushed: ‘idc Cher can do anything she wants and she’s amazing’, while another wrote: ‘Cher is literally the only one who can get away with lip syncing.’
After his performance of Play a Christmas Song sent the audience into a frenzy, the DJ returned to the stage to sing the 1950s Chuck Berry classic Run Run Rudolph.

‘They’re each lip-syncing for the parade,’ wrote one user of former Twitter user X. ‘Cher’s outfit and overall Cher-ness overshadows the lip-syncing.’
“I was surprised by Cher lip syncing at the parade,” one X user sarcastically wrote. ‘I am appalled by this statement. What’s next, you’re going to tell me pro wrestling is scripted???’
In 1991, Cher came under fierce controversy for lip-syncing during a supposed live performance on ABC’s In Concert to promote her album Love Hurts.
The practice was a particularly thorny issue at that stage, as the infamous Milli Vanilli lip-syncing scandal had broken a year earlier and the R&B duo had been revealed to be imitating other singers’ voices in live concerts.
