Cher Lloyd splits from her husband of 13 years and tells fans her wedding ring is ‘in the bin’ – just three months after her father’s death

Cher Lloyd has announced her split from husband Craig Monk after 13 years of marriage.
The 32-year-old X Factor star shared the news as she revealed her wedding ring was ‘in the trash’ just three months after her father’s death.
Cher sparked speculation that her marriage was over when she shared a photo of her ringless hand on Instagram.
One user then commented: ‘I have so many questions, where is your wedding ring? What should we understand from your photographs?’ Cher replies: ‘In the bin.’
The singer met Monk in 2011 when she got him hair extensions following her X Factor success, and they got engaged the following year.
They married in 2013 and have two daughters: seven-year-old Delilah-Rae and two-year-old Eliza Violet.
In April, Cher shared the heartbreaking news that her father Darren had passed away.
Sharing a screenshot of her text message exchange with her father, Cher wrote: ‘Life will never be the same again. I’ve never felt such pain. Dad, I love you. Good night 10.03.73 – 11.04.26.’

Cher’s text message in the photo read: ‘I love you dad. More than you can ever know,’ Darren replies: ‘I know you do. And I love you more every day, see you tomorrow.’
Cher announced in 2020 that her father was ‘seriously unwell’ in the hospital and said she feared for his health after his father was hospitalized twice during the coronavirus quarantine.
She had told fans that she was worried about her father, who suffers from pre-existing health conditions, during the pandemic.
He explained at the time: ‘I apologize for remaining silent here; I have a hard time sharing my personal life at the best of times, but I feel like I should let you know what’s going on. My father’s condition is serious and he is in the hospital.
‘This has been really hard on us and my head all around. I wish I could see him, and I wish I could be with my family and support them, especially my mother.

‘We can’t be with my father, but I’m so grateful to the doctors and nurses for taking care of him. This is a very scary time for everyone. I hope you’re safe.”
Cher later said waiting for her father to recover was the ‘hardest part’ of being in isolation.
Swagger Jagger singer Cher has slowly come into the limelight lately with her single Green Light, which will be released in April 2025.
She is famous for first stepping onto the X-Factor stage in 2010 at the age of 16 and impressing Cheryl Cole, Simon and Louis Walsh with her song Turn My Swag On.
It placed at number four and signed with Cowell’s record label, Syco Music.
In 2011, Swagger released his debut album, Sticks And Stones, which had Jagger’s number one single.
Her second album, Sorry I’m Late, followed in 2014 and reached number 21 in the UK Albums Chart.
The young singer left Syco three years after signing with Cowell, explaining that she and the music mogul fell out over her career path and how she was unable to handle that level of ‘control’.
Fast forward to January 2025, Cher attacked Cowell in her single Head Down, in which she sings, “You sold me the dream, I was only seventeen, you chewed me up, spit me out.”
In a TikTok video promoting the single, which is part of her upcoming third studio album, she said: ‘I wrote this song about times when you feel like you’re the only one you feel like you’ve hit a brick wall.
‘The music industry can be murky sometimes. Some stories may never be told, but it’s up to you to hear mine.’
Cher, who left Cowell’s company the same year, married her boyfriend of two years, Craig Monk, and they gave birth to their first daughter, Delilah-Rae, in May 2018. Their second daughter, Eliza Violet, was born in 2023.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Cher Lloyd for comment.
