Chicago Teachers’ Association (CTU) mourned the death of a killer convicted on the FBI’s most sought -after terrorists list at an X Post on Friday.
“Rest in power, sleep in peace, Assati Shakur,” CTU’s post was read. “Today we honor the life and heritage of a revolutionary warrior, a violent writer, a respected black salvation old and a freedom leader who continues to live in our struggle.”

Cuba officials announced on Friday that Shakur was born in Joanne Deborah Byron and Joanne Chesimard, also known as Chesimard, died in Havana after escaping from prison and escaped to the communist nation.
In 1977, Shakur was convicted of the murder of state Trooper Werner Foerster in a 1973 clash in New Jersey Turnpike. Foerster was left behind a wife and 3 -year -old son. He escaped from prison in 1979 and lived underground before he appeared in Cuba in 1984.
The Chief Public Prosecutor of the FBI and the New Jersey gave a $ 1 million award for his arrest.
