Tucson man wearing similar backpack to Nancy Guthrie kidnapper seen trying to scale wall on evening of abduction

Newly released footage shows a man wearing a backpack similar to the one seen with Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapper trying to scale a wall in Tucson.

An unidentified bald man wearing a gray zip-up jacket and blue jeans was seen removing one of his backpacks and leaving the other on his back at around 1.53am local time on February 1, the day the 84-year-old was reported missing.

He then appeared to try to get to the other side of the stone wall, but after a few minutes of difficulty he moved away.

On Thursday, TMZ reported that the network had received another ransom letter from Nancy’s kidnappers, but this time it contained a threatening message that was “not taken seriously.”

Nancy, the beloved mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on January 31 after returning home from dinner and game night with her other daughter, Annie.

The latest evidence comes after bombshell footage showed a masked man at Nancy’s front door fiddling with the doorbell camera.

This man was seen wearing a black face mask, thick black latex gloves, and a black book bag on his back. The clip marked the latest development in the missing persons case in more than a week.

On Wednesday afternoon, investigators discovered a lone black glove similar to the one in the masked man’s doorbell clip near Nancy’s $1 million home.

The Daily Mail understands that a single glove found in a small bush was bagged and taken away by authorities. They did not give a definitive answer as to who it belonged to.

Nancy’s doorbell camera disconnected around 1:47 a.m., and her pacemaker, an implanted medical device that regulates a person’s heart rate, stopped pairing with her phone and Apple Watch around 2:28 a.m.

He was reported missing the next day after church friends became concerned when he did not show up for services. Nancy has not been seen or heard from since.

As the search for Nancy entered its eleventh day on Thursday, a large white forensic tent was set up outside Nancy’s home, where the masked figure was hiding.

Four police officers arrived at Guthrie’s home in an unmarked black vehicle around 8 a.m. on Thursday morning, the Daily Mail revealed. Two officers in uniform carried a bag containing the tent, while others brought additional equipment.

The large tent covering the entrance to Nancy’s home and the front porch where investigators previously found blood matching her DNA was removed about an hour after it was erected.

As of now, there is no other indication of what exactly authorities are looking for. But forensic tents are typically erected when investigators want to conceal a body, weapon or other critical evidence.

Just after news broke about the tent at her mother’s home, Savannah posted another heartbreaking video in tribute to her missing mother.

‘Our lovely mother. We will never give up on him. Thank you for your prayers and hope,’ the journalist said.

Since news of his disappearance first emerged, hundreds of detectives and agents have been assigned to the world-shaking investigation.

By Tuesday, authorities appeared to have made little progress in determining what happened to Nancy or finding out who was responsible.

surveillance photosThe first significant break in the case came when a masked man tried to turn off the doorbell camera on his front porch.

But the footage doesn’t show what happened to him or help determine whether he’s still alive.

FBI Director Kash Patel said his team worked for days to find missing, corrupted or inaccessible footage.

On Wednesday, two investigators emerged from eldest daughter Annie’s home with a paper shopping bag and a white garbage bag.

Someone still wearing blue protective gloves also picked up a stack of letters from a roadside mailbox. They walked away without speaking to reporters.

Annie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, who lived a few miles away from Nancy, were the last people to see her.

Meanwhile, a series of ransom notes were sent to various news organizations, including TMZ and KOLD.

Many of the bills had large monetary demands, including one demanding $6 million in bitcoin.

TMZ received a new ransom letter just before 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday. The report stated that the sender of the correspondence was unsuccessful in his attempt to contact Nancy’s son, Camron Guthrie, and Annie.

In the message, the sender reportedly said he had information about the identity of the suspect seen in Nancy’s $1 million Tucson home the night she disappeared.

‘If they want the name of the person involved then I want 1 Bitcoin in the wallet below. The note allegedly states that time is extremely meaningful.

The Bitcoin address listed in the note is reportedly legitimate and different from the address in the original ransom note, which TMZ and two local news stations in Arizona obtained.

On Thursday afternoon, just after new images of the man with the backpack emerged, the outlet said they were sent another note.

Just after 8 a.m. Pacific Time, the outlet opened an email that read: ‘I am not being taken seriously.’

The author also stated that he, too, “could be indicted like that Carlos guy,” referring to Carlos Palazeulos, a delivery driver hired by law enforcement in connection with Nancy’s disappearance.

He was later released.

The sender of the last email requested a single Bitcoin worth approximately $65,000 as payment for their information.

In the note, the anonymous writer claimed that they would need the money ‘to lie low after identifying the kidnapper for fear of retaliation.’

The note, like the others, was sent to law enforcement.
