Israel and Hamas delegations continued negotiations for a new ceasefire and hostage release agreement during the indirect talks in Doha, while 26 people were killed in strikes elsewhere in Gaza on Thursday.

Despite the optimism expressed by the United States, who acts as a mediator with Qatar and Egypt, they do not seem to have approached a breakthrough so far.

On Wednesday night, a senior Israeli official said it could take an agreement to journalists in Washington for one or two weeks.

Speaking by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the United States, an agreement was reached in the 60 -day ceasefire, he said that Israel would use this time to present a permanent end to the war that requires Hamas to remain unarmed. If Hamas refused to disarm, Israel added military operations “will progress.”

Previously, Hamas made a statement that the talks were difficult and that he accused Israel “compromise”.

The group said that it shows the flexibility to accept the release of 10 hostages, but was looking for a “comprehensive” agreement that would end the Israeli attack.

The Israeli army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack on Hamas on 7 October 2023 against Southern Israel, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were hostage.
