Three Maoists killed in encounter with police in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

Three Maoists were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, November 16, 2025, police said.

“A gunfight broke out in the morning hours in the forest hills of Bhejji and Chintagufa police station areas when a team of District Reserve Guards (DRG) went on an anti-Maoist operation based on inputs regarding the presence of Maoist cadres in the area,” Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan said. PTI.

“Three Maoists have been killed so far in the gunfight and the operation is still ongoing,” SP Chavan said. With the latest action, 262 Maoists have been killed so far in clashes in Chhattisgarh this year.

While 233 of them were eliminated in Bastar division, which consists of seven districts, including Sukma, another 27 were shot dead in Gariaband district of Raipur division. Two Maoists were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki area in Durg district.
