Chiranjeevi Crowns Ram Charan the ‘New Age Megastar’

Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film with director Bobby, joined the success celebrations of Peddi and showered praise on his son Ram Charan for his powerful performance in the film.

Speaking at the event, Chiranjeevi recalled a recent meeting where fans and industry observers referred to Ram Charan as the “New Age Megastar”. To the delight of fans, the veteran star confirmed the sentiment and hinted that it might be time for the next generation to take the stage.

“Maybe it’s time for me to take a backseat and bring Charan to the forefront and enjoy the show,” Chiranjeevi said, drawing loud applause from the audience. However, he quickly clarified that his statement does not mean he will retire from films anytime soon.

The veteran actor also praised Charan’s performance in the movie Peddi, which received critical acclaim from both the audience and critics. Many fans called it an award-worthy performance, with some even suggesting that Charan deserved the National Award for this role. Director Sukumar, who had previously worked with Charan in Rangasthalam, had once predicted that the actor would win the National Award for this landmark performance.

Referring to his son’s success, Chiranjeevi said, “Whether or not I get an award is secondary. The most important thing is to win the love and admiration of the audience. Charan achieved this with Peddi. Today, I can proudly say that I have become a complete actor.”
