Chiranjeevi Likely to Hold Second Round of Talks?

If industry sources are to be believed, megastar Chiranjeevi is planning to hold a second round of talks with manufacturers and exhibitors today or tomorrow to resolve the ongoing percentage sharing issue in Telangana.

“All stakeholders are now waiting for his call and confirmation of the meeting time,” said a source close to the developments. According to insiders, Chiranjeevi is keen on finding a solution before May 30 and has reportedly appealed to both manufacturers and exhibitors to soften their stance and reach an amicable solution.

In his previous meeting held a few days ago, Chiranjeevi is said to have patiently listened to the concerns of both manufacturers and participants regarding the long-standing dispute between rental and percentage sharing systems.

“He understood the concerns and financial pressures faced by both parties. There are over 300 single-screen theaters in Telangana and a sudden shift from rental model to percentage system could impact revenues and operational stability,” the source explained.

The actor is also believed to have gathered independent feedback through his industry contacts before making any recommendations.

While manufacturers are reportedly willing to consider implementing the percentage sharing model after June 30, participants are pushing for this model to be launched from the launch of Peddi, arguing that demand has been pending for several years.

“The discussions are mainly about whether theaters should get a fixed amount or a certain percentage share. Chiranjeevi wants to ensure that both parties are protected and is personally devoting time to help resolve the issue,” the source added.

Meanwhile, on the professional side, Chiranjeevi has started working on his 158th film along with director KS Ravindra, which aims to recreate the commercial success of his earlier blockbuster Waltair Veerayya.
