According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru will be off to a cold and misty start again on Wednesday, December 10, with temperatures expected to drop to around 16 degrees. City dwellers can anticipate fog-filled early hours and partly cloudy skies, further enhancing the city’s increasingly wintry weather.
Daytime conditions will be mild and maximum temperatures are estimated to reach 28-29 degrees, with some relief following the morning coolness.

The drop in temperature gives the city its distinctive winter atmosphere: foggy mornings, cool breezes and crisp evenings, with even harsher cold wave conditions intensifying in North and Central India.
A Colder Week Awaits Bengaluru
IMD projections show that this week could be one of the coldest weeks Bengaluru has experienced in recent years. Minimum temperatures are expected to be between 12 and 14 degrees, significantly below the city’s December average minimum of 16.4 degrees.
IMD Bengaluru stated that temperatures will remain low throughout the week and then return to normal seasonal levels.
If the temperature drops to 12 degrees as predicted, it will be the coldest December morning since December 11, 2016. It will be an important milestone as the city has rarely witnessed such sharp declines.
As Bengaluru continues to cool down, residents are advised to prepare for chilly dawns, wear light winter clothing and stay aware of daily weather advisories.
