CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke begins indefinite hunger strike after Wangchuk taken to hospital

Addressing his supporters at Jantar Mantar, Dipke stated that he would go on an indefinite hunger strike and called on people not to step back.
“As of today, I am starting my indefinite hunger strike. I call out to everyone: Do not step back, this movement will grow even further. They made a big mistake.” He called on the public to gather at Jantar Mantar and join the march planned to be held on July 20.
The development came a few hours after the Delhi Police shifted Wangchuk to the hospital, taking into account the Delhi High Court’s directions and medical advice due to the activist’s deteriorating health condition after a 20-day hunger strike.

“While complying with the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s orders, the protestors attempted to create obstruction, following which minor mayhem broke out, but the police took maximum restraint and carried out the exercise safely,” the DCP said. he said.
