Aston Villa: Douglas Luiz rejoins after Youri Tielemans sidelined for 8-10 weeks

Belgian Tielemans, 28, suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s 2-0 win at Newcastle and checks confirmed he is unlikely to return until April.
“Tielemans is out for eight to 10 weeks,” coach Emery said on Wednesday. “Kamara will not play this season. McGinn is out for six to eight weeks.
“After the updates of these players, we need to manage the midfield in the matches we will play.”
Kamara underwent surgery on the knee he injured in the FA Cup win against Tottenham earlier this month.
Emery said another midfielder, Ross Barkley, who last played in November, “will be back in a few days.”
Defender Andres Garcia will be out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Striker Tammy Abraham joined Villa from Besiktas for £18.5 million on Tuesday and winger Leon Bailey returned after spending the first half of the season on loan at Roma, while striker Donyell Malen previously signed for Roma.
Villa will host Red Bull Salzburg, which has qualified for the knockout stage of the Europa League, at Villa Park on Thursday.
Despite injury problems, Harvey Elliott’s situation at Villa remains unchanged.
Villa do not want to pay an additional £30 million to make his move from Liverpool permanent. If he plays 10 matches, they will have to pay this fee.
The attacking midfielder has made five appearances since his summer loan spell from Anfield but has not featured since October, although he was on the bench against Newcastle.
“It’s not changing with Harvey,” Emery said. “We have an idea. I’ve talked openly with Harvey. I’ve said before that he’s a great guy.
“He was on the bench against Newcastle on Sunday and if we needed help from him he was there, ready to play.
“He is also in the squad tomorrow, but this does not change his current situation.”
