Hyderabad | Cab driver arrested for attempt to murder constables on patrol duty in Bowenpally

A taxi driver was arrested for allegedly trying to kill the patrol of two officers in the patrol mission by hitting his car during a routine night patrol on 5 July 2025.

The defendant, who was described as 25-year-old Nochina Sampath gambling in Moula-Ali Krishna Nagar, was arrested near Dilsukhnagar Metro Station on Monday, July 7, 2025.

According to the police, around 10 o’clock on Saturday, armed reserve officials K. Chanti and L. Praveen, the suspect’s vehicle in a suspicious way when they realized that they parked in a dilemma on the way to patrol the milk farm in the Bowenpally. After approaching the research, the driver’s vehicle is claimed to hit the patrol bike and caused both consoles to fall.

Constable L. Praveen continued a major break with his left leg, while K. Chanti was subjected to slight injuries. The defendant immediately fled the scene. Injured civil servants were taken to Secuunderabad KIMS Hospital for treatment.

The inspectors using CCTV images and technical evidence followed the suspect to his residence in Moula-Ali. Police said that Sampath Kumar, who runs a taxi under a driving sharing platform, was allegedly engaged in an inappropriate activity with a woman in the vehicle during the incident. Exposure, fear of legal proceedings, attacked the officers to escape the determination. A case was reserved and more investigations continue.
