Co-founder of Students for Trump arrested on domestic violence charges | US news

The co-founder of the group Students for Trump was arrested Tuesday on domestic violence charges.
The Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department arrested 30-year-old Ryan Fournier and charged him with simple assault and attempted bodily harm, Defector first reported.
Accordingly According to arrest documents, the alleged incident occurred Monday night at a luxury apartment complex in Washington, D.C. An unnamed victim told authorities she was visiting Fournier, with whom she allegedly had a relationship for two months, when she found him on the floor, “apparently drunk.”
According to the victim, who claimed Fournier had a knife with him but did not point or use the knife at her, when Fournier tried to wake her up “he began swinging his fists at her and struck her in the face with a closed fist two or three times.” The victim also claimed Fournier said, “I’m going to kill everyone in here.”
One affidavitAn eyewitness who identified himself as Fournier’s roommate said that when he heard the victim trying to wake Fournier, he allegedly yelled, “Don’t touch me, woman!”, “Do you want me to crush your head with this lamp?” He said he shouted.
“[Witness] returned to his office [Fournier] He was waving his vacuum cleaner around and yelling. [Victim]. [Witness] While trying to separate the two sides, he got in between them. [Witness] He said he went to the toilet and heard [Fournier] ‘Do you want to die today?’ he shouts. [Victim] I ran to the bathroom and was told [Witness]’he looked like he had been punched in the face.’ [Witness] They called 911 and [Fournier] left the apartment during this time [Victim] he said [Witness]’Don’t let him stab me,’ the affidavit continued.
The Guardian has approached the Metropolitan Police Department for comment.
Fournier after his arrest entered A not guilty plea during Tuesday’s hearing on the misdemeanor charges. The judge granted a no-contact order at the preliminary hearing and a status hearing was set for July 7.
Fournier was arrested in North Carolina in November 2023 on domestic violence charges after he was accused of assaulting his then-girlfriend with a handgun by “grabbing her right arm and striking her in the forehead,” according to court documents at the time.
His charges, which included domestic assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon, were dismissed a few weeks later.
According to his website, Fournier describes himself as a commentator and podcast host. Following the death of Charlie Kirk, whose organization Turning Point USA purchased the rental rights of Trump’s website and social media accounts in 2019, Fournier wrongly accused Wisconsin principal Cindy Rehberg’s celebration of Kirk’s death sparked a wave of death threats against her.
He later withdrew his claim about X. don’t write: “We must continue to expose those who mocked Charlie Kirk’s death, but accuracy is paramount.”
