Coca-Cola Brings The Iconic FIFA World Cup™ Trophy To India After 12 Years

New Delhi: The original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy has arrived in India as part of Coca-Cola’s FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour. This marks his return to India after twelve years ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Coca‑Cola, the exclusive partner of the Trophy Tour, continues its long-standing relationship with football by bringing one of the world’s most iconic sporting symbols to Indian fans.

The tour began with FIFA Charter Landing, followed by the official unveiling of the original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Man Singh Road, Delhi. The opening ceremony was attended by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya attended; Brazil’s former World Cup champion, FIFA legend Gilberto D’Silva; sports historian and author Boria Majumdar; Coca-Cola’s leadership, including Sanket Ray, President, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia; Greishma Singh, Vice President, Marketing, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia; and Devyani Rana, Vice President, Public Relations, Communications and Sustainability, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia.

Speaking on this occasion, the Union Minister Responsible for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said: “Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, sports have emerged as a national priority. We firmly believe that sports are a powerful tool to nurture discipline, confidence and character, especially among our youth. The FIFA World Cup™️ Trophy Tour resonates strongly with our desire to position India among the top five sporting nations in the world.” 2047. As India moves towards becoming Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, sports will be a vital pillar in nation building and youth empowerment.”

Coca-Cola’s FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour builds on one of the longest-standing partnerships in global sport, with Coca-Cola and FIFA collaborating for more than 50 years. The Trophy will visit 30 FIFA Member Associations (countries) over 75 stops and more than 150 tour days during its global journey, offering fans an incredible opportunity to experience the excitement and connection of football.

The original FIFA World Cup Trophy weighs 6,175kg, is made of 18-carat solid gold and was created as a composition of two human figures holding the world above them. The current design dates back to 1974.

The FIFA Cup Tour underlines Coca-Cola’s commitment to global sporting moments to celebrate the deep-rooted football culture across the country.

Staying true to its community-first approach, Coca-Cola India has integrated the #MaidaanSaaf initiative into the Cup Tour. With staffed recycling stations, trained volunteers and open field guidance, this initiative supports responsible waste management practices at large public events by enabling structured waste collection and sorting.
