After rushed funeral, Sunny Deol and family disallow media from entering hotel premises; here’s why

On Thursday, November 27, the Deol family held a prayer meeting for Dharmendra titled Celebration of Life at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. The biggest names of Bollywood including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Rekha, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and many more attended the meeting. Updates of the celebrities who came to the meeting were frequently shared by paparazzi and media portals. But the surprising thing is that the paps can only capture the entrances and exits of these stars. The images they captured were of their cars and luckily only a few faces of these celebrities were captured.
Why couldn’t the media get a proper look at the celebrities? The reason is revealed
Among the attendees whose photos and videos were clearly visible were Ameesha Patel, Shabana Azmi, Abhay Deol and Karan Johar. This was because the media was not allowed to enter the hotel premises. The Deols are still upset with the media and this came out quite clearly during the prayer meet. Often at celebrity prayer meetings, media photographers and videographers are assigned a place where they can film the participants. At the prayer meet of Pamela Chopra, Veerapa Shetty (Suniel Shetty’s father) and the latter Pankaj Dheer, the media was allowed to capture the participants walking towards the building and even the fathers agreed that they would not invade the privacy of the grieving family.
Did Deol ban the media?
After Sunny Deol’s outburst against the paparazzi, the family decided not to entertain the media. Highlighting their displeasure, the Deols restricted media access even within the Taj Hotel compound. Whether the Deols have banned the press or not will be revealed during the promotions of Sunny’s upcoming film Border 2. This is not the first time the media has not even been allowed to cover the prayer meeting. During the meeting of Anil and Boney Kapoor’s mother Nirmal Kapoor, the priests had to stand on the roadside to capture the images of the arriving celebrities.
