Collector S. Kandasamy directed all government and government authorized private e-Sevai centers in Erode district to ensure proper processing of applications and warned that action would be taken against centers whose errors led to rejection of applications.

The directive follows a recent inspection by the Collector of e-Sevai centers operating in Appakudal and Pudupalayam Primary Agriculture Cooperative Credit Society in Bhavani taluk.

According to the press release, there are 201 state e-Sevai centers and 661 state-approved private e-Sevai centers in the region. The centers were established to provide government services closer to people’s homes, reduce the need to visit government offices, and ensure transparent, unintermediary service delivery.

The centers facilitate applications for various government services and also provide Aadhaar-related services, including registration, biometric updates and changes to personal information at designated locations. They also offer employment registration and renewal, updating educational qualifications, utility bill payment, and voter ID card applications and corrections services.

The aggregator instructed operators to thoroughly verify supporting documents before uploading the information. In the statement, it was stated that if applications are rejected due to incorrect data uploaded by a center, necessary action will be taken against the relevant operator.

He also directed that only the service fee of ₹60 fixed by the government should be collected for all services provided through e-Sevai centres. Prescribed fees should be prominently displayed at each centre. He said the centers should also provide basic amenities such as drinking water and toilets, and staff should be courteous to the public.

The Collector appealed to the public to use the nearest government e-Sevai center to avail government services without wasting unnecessary time and money.

Complaints regarding e-Sevai centers can be submitted through the toll-free helpline at 1800-425-6000 or via email at tnesevaihelpdesk@tn.gov.in, the statement said.
