Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr found update on security guard he collided with at game

There was a scary moment during the Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game when Michael Pittman Jr. accidentally knocked over a safety and the safety fell hard on the grass near the end zone.

On what could have been a touchdown catch – Pittman was called for offensive pass interference to prevent the catch in the end zone – he was pushed and lost his footing while sliding on the grass in the rain.

But Pittman quickly struck a security guard who didn’t look back while doing his duty while facing the Jacksonville crowd at EverBank Stadium. The back of his head hit the ground as the security guard hit the grass hard.

Pittman quickly checked the man over before rejoining his team on the field.

After the game, Pittman posted on X in hopes of learning about the security guard’s condition.

“Is there any update on the security guard who hit his head on the sidelines yesterday?” Pittman asked her followers with a praying hands emoji.

Fox News Digital asked Pittman on Wednesday if he had heard anything about the man he bumped into.

“I got an update from other people,” said Pittman, who also talked about his partnership with Oral-B. “We’re still working on it; we have a great media team in our building. They said they would get his name for me so I could personally reach out and check on him.

“It was a scary thing for everyone involved, but they said he walked away under his own power. He’s doing well, so that’s good.”

NFL players always go the extra mile to help their team win games, but sometimes the heat of competition results in sideline spectators suffering collateral damage. This was one of the scariest blows between a player and game day staff, but it’s good to hear the security guard seems okay.

Had Pittman gotten six points, it would have been rookie Riley Leonard’s first touchdown pass of his young career. But it ultimately didn’t work in a 36-19 loss that saw starting quarterback Daniel Jones out for the season due to an Achilles tear in the first quarter.
