Commercial flight operations from Birsi Airport in Maharashtra’s Gondia district have been suspended due to “technical and operational” reasons, an official said on Sunday (May 10, 2026).
Sources said the carriers’ decision to suspend operations at the airport could be linked to the ongoing West Asian crisis, which is affecting global energy supplies.
According to Airport Director Girishchandra Verma, IndiGo and Star Air have stopped operating services from Gondia due to “technical and operational” reasons.
He said that Star Air suspended its services till May 31, while IndiGo stopped its operations on May 1.
